[But deal's a deal. She sends him the coordinates for a cafe in D3.]
Meet me there at five. [That would give her time to get home and out of her uniform before heading out anywhere. When work finishes, she'll head home for a brief rest before arriving promptly at the cafe on her hover bike and in her civvies.]
Promptly at five - he didn't make it a habit to be late meeting a lady - Kirk arrived at the cafe coordinates, dressed as best as he could be considering his place had been sacked. It meant jeans, a white shirt with a blue button up tossed over it but left open - casual. It wasn't like this was a date, was it?
In his hands he held a white box wrapped with a bright blue bow. He smiled when he saw Tex, shifting the box and raising his hand in greeting to her. ]
[Not a date in her mind, at least. She's dressed down in jeans and a t-shirt, since she saw no point in getting fancy when she's spent a long day at work and isn't going far.
She's surprised to see he actually packaged the cookies the cookies nicely and she smirks as she motions for him to sit down.]
Been a while. You look different when you're not being shot at.
[ He took a chair gratefully, setting the cookies down on the table between them, for now keeping the gun out of sight so as not to alarm any of the other citizens around them, though he had it. ]
Yeah, bullet chic is only for very specific events. And don't take this the wrong way, but you look better out of your armor.
[She glances down at the box before returning her gaze to his. It could be opened in a moment and she briefly wonders if the gun is hiding in there with the cookies.]
That's a shame. I don't like to leave home without it these days. You should get a set of it yourself, might do your figure good.
[She springs for the coffee. Her place didn't get trashed and she's making a decent amount working with the militia to not have to worry. There's plans forming in her mind to sneak her chit to the waiter when it comes time to pay, but that's for later.]
[ He shook his head, fingers drumming the table as he leaned back in
his chair. ]
Not really. I talked to Christine about it, but I was doing something I
liked. I'd rather not give it up, but I guess that depends on how people
feel about hiring an Immune right now.
Mostly I've just been helping down on the ranch the past few days -
rebuilding stuff, helping tune up any machines they had.
[She shakes her head.] No. I live in D3 and our housing didn't take that kind of hit.
[There's another glance at the box before she decides some light teasing would be well-placed here.] You didn't get any shrapnel in these while you were baking, right?
Hey - that wasn't the agreement. I made you cookies and you are going to
try them. I don't want you pulling some shenanigans later so you can try
and give me a bad grade because you can't take how good these are. No.
You put those cookies back up here and eat one.
[ He tapped the table top, leaning slightly forward and being very
empathetic about this. She was not cheating him of this moment! ]
[There's a lot of things she could say and she studies him for a moment as she considers her options. It's not like he can shove a cookie in her mouth to force her to eat one.
Her next words are said with some care and there might be a shit-eating smirk to accompany them challenge.] Make me.
[ Oh. A challenge was it. Fine. His lips thinned, debating on what to do. He couldn't out right force her and just shove a cookie in her mouth. For one, he was sure that she could kick his ass if she wanted to. He wasn't a slouch at combat, but he knew for certain she wasn't either and he didn't relish the idea of more bruises.
He did have one thing though. But did he want to go there? Should he? It would be a bit underhanded, but then, she wasn't playing nice either. ]
Eat a cookie, or bad, bad things happen to a certain other something of yours I have.
[Oh, so he's going there. Threatening a loaner she was hesitant to give out in the first place doesn't sit well with her, but she knows he wouldn't get far with messing with it. She'd make sure of that. She rolls her eyes and tapes a finger idly on the tabletop.]
You want that thing shoved up your ass? Because that's what'll happen if you mess with it. And I'll make sure the safety isn't off.
[What the hell is with people having that face and thinking she's hot when threatening them? Goddammit. She could pull out the knife on him like she did FDR, but that'd probably backfire like it did last time. Ugh.]
Put up or shut up, but you mess with that gun and it's the last time you'll ever get one from me.
[ She could try not threatening people. For Kirk it was more because
she reminded him of someone - more violent than here, but he had missed her
presence. Tex wasn't a substitute, by any means, but Kirk did like a girl
who could handle herself. It was surprising how much of a turn on it was
when a girl wouldn't put up with his shit.
He smirked and he hailed the water, looking up at him with his best
blue-eyed innocent look. ]
Could you be amazing and get me your biggest cup of coffee? Oh, and could
you bring a small plate? Perfect for a dessert or something.
[ He looked over at Tex, brows raised around a shit-eating grin.
]
Re: Day 182 - Morning, Voice;
I took pictures, just for you.
No, not really. Lady's choice.
Day 182 - Morning, Voice;
Re: Day 182 - Morning, Voice;
[ She would get a text file that showed Kirk in an apron somewhat like this. ]
D3 sounds good. Just let me know when and where.

Day 182 - Morning, Action;
[ Just the thought made his eyes briefly cloud, remembering the violation of his home. ]
But I'll keep it in mind. Certainly somewhere on the list. Nice as your gun was, I'd prefer my own.
Day 182 - Morning, Action;
Want anything here? On me. I don't want it to cut into your gun-fund.
Day 182 - Morning, Action;
[ He shook his head, but stuck to asking for a water from the waiter that came up to them. ]
Just have to be a bit more careful til I figure out what the hell I'm supposed to be doing.
Day 182 - Morning, Action;
Already on the market for a new job?

Yeah, seems like a lot of people ended up there. I don't think you'll have much trouble finding work, we weren't the ones starting shit.
Re: Day 182 - Morning, Action;
Yeah, but my highest paying clients are people in D1. Doesn't matter who started the shit or not, sides will be pointing fingers.
[ Didn't help that there were bodies on either side that needed burying or whatever they did here. ]
Whatever, I'll make it. Just a rough patch.
You didn't get hit to bad during all that did you?
Day 182 - Morning, Action;
[There's another glance at the box before she decides some light teasing would be well-placed here.] You didn't get any shrapnel in these while you were baking, right?
Re: Day 182 - Morning, Action;
Well, that just might be the secret ingredient surprise. You'll have to take a bite to find out.
[ He grinned at her, sitting back and sipping his water like a cat that can see the canary and knows there's no escape. ]
Re: Day 182 - Morning, Action;
I'll be sure to tell you if I taste it when I have one later.

From anyone else that would be disturbing. From you it's kind of hot.
[ He flashed her a grin, leaning forward now, crossing his arms on the table. ]
As Mr. Sulu once said - do not test me. You will fail.
