She scans over the address and commits it to memory before pocketing the paper. "Thanks." And she means it. "Are you going to be there more often than you were at the last place?"
"I doubt it." He shrugs faintly and continues to eat. Working was his addiction now. Even when he was forced to be away from the labs he kept studying the information that Caitlin had provided him. Tinkering with ways to adapt Bifron's technology to his own purposes.
She sighs. While that's not what she wanted to hear, it's not surprising. At least he's eating food now. "Then I won't make any surprise visits. Are you living alone?"
"I've only just moved in, so I don't know who else lives there. It may well be an employee building." He pauses, the next bit is not going to please her in the slightest... not that he's any happier about it himself.
That causes her to tense. There hasn't been any danger since that day and she's not sure if the guard would be for his safety or to ensure he does what they want.
"I seem to have very little say in the matter." The same thought had occurred to him as well. "It appears I've become a valuable asset. One they would be loath to part with at the moment."
On the plus side, if there is a plus side, it means it shouldn't be hard to ingratiate himself on them. He's making good progress in learning their programming language.
"I don't trust one of them near you with a gun. See if they'll let me do the job instead." She doesn't trust Bifrons or want to be on their payroll, but it's better than him going into this alone. He's getting in deep, whether he wants to admit it or not.
"No." He looks at her over his glasses and then back down to his dinner. "Until we have a better idea of what they are doing I don't it would be wise for you to get involved."
How strange, normally she would be his top choice for something like this. He would even go so far as to try to manipulate her into it... but he can't. And he doesn't want to think too closely on why that might be.
She rolls her eyes. He's stubborn and she doesn't want that to be why he gets his sorry ass killed by his 'personal guard.' "Is that the reason or is it because I look like her and you don't want to see her get hurt again?"
He goes still, she just had to point out the elephant in the room. Now he can't ignore it as much as he'd like to.
"There are several reasons." His voice is subdued, as if he's trying to convince himself as much as he's trying to convince her. He could bullshit a whole slew of other reasons but it would always come back to the fact that she was a near perfect replica of Allison.
"Give me one good reason why I shouldn't talk to that callsign you're working with to become your personal guard. A reason that doesn't involve who I look like." If he could give her just one, then she'd drop it. Otherwise, it might be worth looking into.
"Yes, and spending time with you won't do the same," she replies with a snort. More and more she wonders if a tense relationship is all she'll be able to have with the other agents.
"It'd be better than you winding up dead in the middle of the night because they decided you're no longer useful." Her eating has slowed, too. He makes things far more complicated than they need to be.
"This would be easier if you were at least living with me again."
"Good. I can deal with Church if you decide to move." Church is the only one she's concerned with since he made a point of mentioning how he did not want to live with the Director, but it isn't like the two would ever run into each other. Not with the schedule the older man kept.
When her beer glass is empty, she declines the wait staff's offer to refill it. She knows he didn't ask her, but she attempt to not drink in front of him in the future unless he's partaking.
There was another reason to avoid sharing a roof with her. She calls him Church now, not Alpha. He can only imagine that Alpha resembles himself as she resembles Allison... it's not something he wants to see.
She pokes at her food idly, eating a bite every so often, before slipping into a more familiar conversation topic. "You have bought more than granola bars and coffee for your new place, right?"
She'll appreciate that since she plans on paying once more. Her plate isn't looking much better than his, though she's still picking at the food.
"I wasn't letting Carolina walk out of there unless I did," she replies casually. She isn't sure how much contact Carolina and the Director have with one another, but if he sees the other woman he's bound to find out.

"It's an apartment in a shared building. I don't have any roommates, if that's what you're thinking."

"Good. I was wondering if they'd throw you in with some of their other employees or not."

"They are assigning me a personal guard."

"One of their own or can you pick?"

"You don't want to strain your relationship with the others any further than it already is." Yes, that seems reasonable, he can work with that.

He goes back to poking at his food... not really interested in eating any more but not wanting to look like he's just stopped eating.

Retreating back to this subject is oddly comfortable after the awkwardness before it.
